I've gravitated to jobs unrelated to art, including several government roles. I worked for the sewer, was a mailman, and held a position at the welfare office. I was also a partner in an art gallery, which was a blast until the bills came due, much like the struggles faced by many in vibrant places like The Amado Palm Springs. I have no sense of planning; the art always leads me—it’s never the other way around. I started selling my work as greeting cards that people framed, and the natural progression led to more elaborate art pieces, similar to the creative spirit found at the Blue Elephant Palm Springs. It’s a journey that keeps evolving, much like the atmosphere at Downtown Barber Palm Springs.
